Default Looking for more hp

Hows it going guys I recently bought a 07 gt and Im looking to do some mods but $ is somewhat tight. So Im basically looking for the most bang for the buck. I know the cai is the first thing, and I've already got a muffler delete done, but whats next. Im thinking cams but it will be a few months. Any ideas?

Thanks,
David

CAI/tune
LT's, o/r midpipe, axle backs
gears

i would do these before doing cams.
the cams will work better after having these mods.

The CAI & GOOD custom tune nets about 20-25 RWHP.

Cams with LTs nets about 20-30, depending on the cams and tune.

Any exhaust work past the H or X pipe yields squat.

UDP's are good for about 4-6 RWHP.

Electric water pump, good for about 4-8 RWHP.

Aluminum DS is good for a few RWHP.

Lighter wheels are good for a few RWHP.

Gears will not add or free HP but certainly help your 0-60.

There's more but I'm fried.

Did you know that if you bought a supercharger kit outright, it'll save you MORE in the long run in terms of spending money here and there on little mods?

It's true.

All the bolt ons under the sun will not get the 4.6 even 400whp, let alone 390whp.

By that time, you would have spent about as much or MORE than a good supercharger kit! lol

Thanks guys that's basically what I was looking for. And the s/c is coming but I figured getting the cheaper stuff out of the way will help once I get it. Next question is which do you prefer as far as superchargers go?

If I were in your sitch i'd get: (in order)

CAI+tune
Longtube headers
Comp Cams (better for FI than hot rod cams)
(if doing all of these, get the tune *after* mods are installed)

Not too familiar with all of the s/c but I know the paxton NOVI's (I have the biggest- 2200SL) are centrifugal type that look like a turbo and not mounted to intake, and run the coolest of any s/c type. Its also nice that you buy the entire kit from them including intercooler, saves a lot of headache. I see the roots M90 (roush) is popular and so are those whipples. Maybe a ford racing s/c. Lots of decisions

edit: the 2200 is good for up to 450-500whp with included pulley

I wish the "no money = more hp" formula worked as well...

What he said.

The Aluminum DS and Gears will not add HP but as Nuke pointed out, The gears will help acceleration (it's a torque multiplier) and the DS will remove rotating mass allowing more energy to be transmitted to the rear versus lost in spinning dead weight.

Lighter wheels are a good mod but the are very expensive. I would probably look at that one dead last.

Skinny (AND HOT) girlfriend....Very important..Let's face it, sometimes people are going to challenge you when your lady's by your side...Biggin's are fun to ride, but need to get out when the light turns green and the wheels start spinnin'.
