Updates of my mods (with pics!!)
#11
Thanks everyone!! I really loved my 2010 when I finished it but hey, this ones not done yet ;] lol. That car will be a hard act to follow though I really loved it.
I had 5% tint on the blue car and there was no way I was going with anything less on this one lol. I love the way the 5% tint goes with the red/black theme! Same way it went with the blue/black
See aaquib I never disappoint my mustang community lol. Thanks, and all I did was sand (i forget what grade paper it was) and than sprayed 3 coats. My first coat was decent and the last 2 were pretty thick. I really didnt care about the light output at all I just wanted them dark. I even considered just spray painting them black, but I went with the VHT this way atleast a little light shows through, which it does. I will take a pic for you tomorrow night to show you how it looks, but like I said I just wanted them dark so there could be more light if I went with lighter coats.
Also pdonket I forgot to post back on the other thread but thanks for the info!! I honestly coundnt see doing it any other way other than taking the bumper off. Made it 100x easier and saved my back and neck from crawling under there

Jimmy - You know what they say, once you go black you never go back ;].. LMFAO
aaquib Yeah theres nothing like DIY mods. It makes you feel good about the car knowing YOU did it. Kind of like the saying "built not bought". I personally would rather VHT my oem side markers than pay $50 (for 2) blacked out ones. and I would never have the ***** to do my tail lights lol. They have to have the exact same number of coats with the exact same thickness otherwise the light output will be off. If I were you I would buy a used set of tailights off ebay or something to try it on. If you like the way it comes out just swap them and sell your OEM's

Oh yeah definitely, and they are usually much cheaper too! Win win situation, and that feeling of seeing you handiwork is the best lol. And yeah, I probably won't do my taillights haha, but maybe if I can find a cheapo set off ebay like you said I might give it a whirl.
Thanks for the recommendation man, I might actually try that since I see used tail sets going for sub $90.
