Default Bumper sticks out. How do I fix it?

One day as I was driving on the freeway, I hit a piece of a tire that was just laying there on the middle of the road. The impact made the bumper stick out on both the driver side and the passenger side on the area that meets the bumper to the fender. When I got home I just pushed it in and the driver side has stay put ever since but the passenger side always sticks out. Does anyone know how I can fix it so it can stay in place? It annoys me having to push it into place after every drive. And sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Really looking forward to hearing if there's an easy solution for this. Someone really lightly bumped my rear end, and didn't wait around to talk to me about it and although it's hardly noticeable, of course I notice that it sticks out just a little bit.

I was told that these new Mustangs use brackets that hold the bumpers into place, but I think Ford would be the only option for that. I want an easier route that I can possibly do myself.

Maybe the bracket you speak of is broke? Bring it to the dealer, they will look it over for free and tell you a solution. You can do it yourself or just have them do it for a minimum fee.

Yeah, most likely the bracket broke off when the bumper was struck. Maybe I will take it in to Ford cuz it's annoying to have to keep pushing it in every time.

And on a side note, I see that you have painted your valance, looks really good. I have a little question. After the valance is painted, does it acquire a feel to the touch just like the rest of the car or does it retain the feel of the valance before it was painted? I wanna buy the GT500 valance soon and have it painted.

The piece feels just like the rest of the car since the guy who did it, did it right.

When I got in my accident the rear bumper barely got pushed out, kind of like that. They had to take it off, replace the plastic things holding the bumper on (they broke), and bend the bumper back into shape. Hope you get off easier then I did.

I'm assuming those plastic things are the brackets I mentioned. If so, my guess is that that really is the only way to go about it.

pdonket I spoke to a friend's brother who works in a body shop. He told me that the brackets are the way to go, but if you want something economical and that works just as good you can use a zip tie. I may give it a try within the coming days once I finish finals week at school. If your interested, I can update you on the results.
