Default Active Alarm

How do you arm it? Are there any adjustments? I did what the book said and it does not seem to work. Thanks

I was having trouble with my 2005 V6. I would get out, lock the doors and then open the trunk to put something in there. BUT before I opened my trunk I didn't unlock my doors and that would set the alarm off cause it thinks someone is breaking into the trunk.

I just get out of my car press the lock button on the alram remote once (which locks the doors)
Then I press it again to turn on the alarm (you'll hear the horn) then your straight.

Thats with my 2005 dont think there would be much of a diff for the 2006 but I dont know

When you are ready to lock and arm the car, just press the lock button once. If the interior lights are on (there's a name for that, I can't think of it), the exterior lights will flash once. After the interior lights shut off, the exterior lights will flash again. If the interior lights are not on, when you lock and arm the car, the exterior lights will flash twice.

It's been my experience that when unlocking and popping the trunk at the same time, I've had no trouble. But once, it set off the alarm, so I've switched to first unlocking/disarming the car, then popping the trunk to avoid setting it off.

The alarm arms when you lock the doors with the remote.

There are some adjustments...

Ok, I read all the thumbnails. Thank you Professor. Now is there an easier way to arm the system? These instructions are unreal. Thanks.

JerryP...

YES.. there IS an easier way.... 2 of them in fact.

1. Take it to your dealer and tell them what you want it to do.

2. Buy a WRPM Ford Factory Computer System and use it to program the alarm. << Easy but NOT Cheap!

If I were you - I would just take it to your dealer.

The instructions are complicated - but not hard... I programmed my alarm to be more sensitive because people kept door-dinging me in parking lots... NOW when they tap my carwith their door, it sets off the alarm - - embarrasing them and possibley ,at the least, keeps them from double dinging it because they are too damn brain dead to even notice that their door is agains my car!.. NOW they KNOW when it is! LOL I have had a whole lot less signes of door dings since I did that.
