Hey man if you aren't looking to make back full boat on those mufflers, and you decide to sell them, hit me up. I've been looking for a pair of macs.

Exley just remember as you listen to sound samples. Every mod changes the tone of the exhaust note. So dont bother listening to any clips that have mods you dont have. Headers, cams, offroad midpipes and even blowers all change the tone. Stick too stock setups. You tube has loads of examples and headphones give you a better real world tone.

Its always good to find a friend that maybe has a exhaust like the one your looking at or something close. I have mac axlebacks on my stang and i will admit there is a big drone with them but i have a friend who has them on there car and i listened to theirs inside the car and out and finally made my descion to get them. The sound clips i found on youtube was very hard to tell the sound that i have now. But I think you should be able to sell them for a ok price and then get what you want I know alot of people that buy macs for there mustangs

My Stingers drone but it doesn't bother me and it bothers the g/f even less. Just change gears and get out of that "drone zone".

You could try pressing the O/D button, btw. Might be enough to pull you out of the rpm range that drones.

I just put Mac axelbacks on my car last week. The drone from 2-2.5 k is quite bad. I tried the O/D solution, no good. It is only in this range that it is bad, which happens to be the rev on the freeway at 65-75 mph. Otherwise they sound fantastic. Anyone know if this will get a little better over time?

Like many others, I recently had GT500 mufflers installed. No drone at all and it's less than $300. Bought it from AM. When you step on it, the noise is music!

Oh well then the solution is to drive 90 all the time, hehe.

Sorry to hear.. I listened to every video I could and instantly was drawn to both the Bassani Race axle back or the magnapack catback, due to the deep rumble and less rasp like Flowmasters

I have a magnapack 3" catback exhaust with H pipe and stock mani's, barely any drone, only when low rpms around 1-1.5k rpm, which is NORMAL with aftermarket exhausts imo. You'll always have a couple of areas in the rpm range where the sound gets loud.

Same exhaust I have on my '07, Bassanni Race with a high flow cat x-pipe is pure sex!

I noticed that A LOT of people running the well known exhausts complain about drone or rasp or whatever...one thread after another, after another, after another, every week. Yet us guys running Bassani are always happy with the sweet, exotic roar our mufflers give the 3V.
