Check Charging System
Hey, everyone
So earlier today I was switching my tune from an 89 to a 93. I usually keep it on a 93 tune but had to switch it back recently to an 89 because the higher octane prices were killing my wallet (my cars a daily driver) Anyway upon switching back to the 93 I had noticed I was getting a warning to "check the charging system" and then afterwords it had also said "fuel level low DTE ODO Data ERR". I thought it might have been a fluke and drove the car around for a bit and everything seemed fine. However, the warning worried me so I checked the alternator and grounding wire and everything seemed to be in place and nothing damaged. The alternator appears to be and look fairly new. I tested the lights, windows, and radio while the car was running and didn't see any drop. To double check I switched back to the 89 to see if was a fluke and it happened again. It only seems to appear while switching tunes. However, this problem never occurred before.
On friday I had replaced the coil pack as well upgrading to a screamn demon coil pack and again the car ran fine with no warnings.
Anyone have an idea what it might be? Worst case a new battery or alternator.
Thanks for the help

Ah I see alright thanks guys. Its odd because I have reflashed the ecu you a couple times when I had to and never really noticed the warning but it simply could have been something that I did not notice until now. I'm usually aware of things like that but I suppose it happens
And Nuke its defiantly only during the reflash I have never seen it occur at other times and had driven it before and after the reflash so I'm sure thats why it was showing the warning. Agreed though I have heard a lot of people having problems with there charging systems, between ground wires, alternators and batteries and fusees it can be a real problem
thanks for replying
