Has anyone tapped into the power from the interior map light? I have a 2011 GT and want to add the homelink garage door opener sun visor (2012 option). Wondering I could run power from my light and if it is more work than its worth.

 

Those that have installed homelink remote controls in the enclosure tie into that power, so it is definitely possible. There are a few threads about it if you search.

 

You can use it with no problem. I tapped in from my map light for my custom homelink. It has a very low draw.

 

That's where I tapped into for my Radar detector since I've got it up there between the map lights and the mirror. Didn't take long at all.
