Default Driveshaft Safety loop?

If I'm thinking about getting the shaftmasters for my DD how necessary is the safety loop?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have one on my DD. I am not putting out a massive amount more HP or treating it like a race car. The loop is usually if you are going to the track and or have done some real work on the car.

its necessary to race on the track if you are faster than 11.5 or was it 10.5, i forget.
but not necessary on the street.
but since you are doing the DS, thats a good time to do the safety loop.

Spend the extra $100 and get it. Without it imagine a mustang pole vaulting down the highway or your DS coming up through the floor board. Then of course it grenades your rear end too. Its a huge Fubar if it goes and you don't have one.

If you're clutch dumping on slicks at a well prepped drag strip, there may come a day when you're glad to have it. Anything short of that kind of abuse and it isn't necessary.

I know a ricer guy that plans on putting a v8 in his Acura Integra and going to RWD.

I hope I see it pole vaulting - and I hope I get it on camera.

Why? That sounds kinda awesome. He'll never do it, but it sounds awesome in theory.

Bingo.

OP, do you plan on seeing any track time?

Not planning any track time. Just wanted to go for the DS change because I read how much of a recommended mod it is. Its usually third on peoples list it seems after CAI/ Tune and muffler upgrades. I also hear it improves the drivetrain a great deal compared to what the stock DS is doing for it.
