CAI and Bama tune.. Disappointed so far

you filled up with 91 octange gasoline, you tuned your ecu to run 89 tune. thus changing making your ecu think its on 89....but its on 91.....follow? PUT THE 91 TUNE ON. a tune changes the timing and other stuff to run that spec of gas.... you arent running the correct gas for that tune.

On my 2010 GT, I had the CAI/Tuner from AM and it did not work for me. I kept on telling myself it was better but in the end, it seemed to me it was no better than stock. I tried all 3 tunes with the octane accordingly. Then you have to deal with properly oiling (when its time to clean it) the filter or the car will die frequently. I will never do a CAI/Tuner again. Just my .02 cents.
Who knows, maybe mine was off as well.
I instead got rid of the 2010 for a 2012 and man is there a difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck

91 gas with 89 tune = A OKAY!!!
87 gas with 91 tune = NOT GOOD!!!
You can ABSOLUTELY run a higher octane gas than the tune requires. It will not cause damage and only be a waste of money (since higher octane is more expensive). The car doesn't know or care what octane you have. The higher octane prevents detonation that might occur at a lower octane. That allows the tune to be a a little more aggressive in the timing and such.
