Default compatibility issues

I'm still on the prowl for a motor, I stumbled upon a '08 4.6 with 17300 miles and about 8500 of those miles had an STs Turbo on it. I know I would need a computer from the '08 year, but what else would I need to make it fit a '05 v6. I would guess the engine harness too.

What would be the issue with the motor mounts, I know the prothane mounts work for all the years, which is what I will be installing, does the motor set lower, further back on the 08 compared to the 05? Would it require a new crossmember?

if youre really going to go that route, you may as well buy the GT cuz ur gonna need the entire engine bay and driveline.

My car has the 8.8, I have an aluminum driveshaft, a lot of money has been put into the suspension, I have the gt brakes, dual exhaust, oh and I just got a 3650 with a spec stage 3, billet flywheel, Hurst short throw, I would say I'm kinda committed to this swap.

It sorta burns me up when people get off on saying that all the time. Sometimes we just want a V8 in the car we have. What part of NC are you from, I am like you I going to swap mine over when I get a chance

For the money your gonna spend on achieving a stock power level GT with this swap you could have just supercharged the 6.

I'm not going to just swap over the motor, I'm gonna cam the v8, new intake manifold, throttle body, exhaust, that will put it past the power of a supercharged 6 and a supercharged 6 still won't achieve a v8 exhaust note. Now back to topic

You are commited to suicide, maybe.
But this swap, no.
You sunk so much $$ into a V6 when you coulda had a V8?
Most of that stuff wont work with the V8.

Cut your losses and invest in a Gt with a factory V8.
