Default Grey cast iron piston rings... quesiton?

just finished building the bottom end of my new motor. I originally bought Hastings ductile iron piston rings set but i opened the end gaps up to much so i ended up not using those rings. I went to the local machine shop to get another set but they were out and wouldn't have any for a few days. They had a set of plain cast (grey) iron Grant piston rings so i bought those. I file fit them and then built the bottom end. Now im thinking should i not have used plain cast iron piston rings? This is a mild street performance build (maybe 380-390 RWHP), cam, ported heads. This is not a race car strictly a street car but i would like to be able to play with the power on the street. does anyone know if i will be ok with these rings?
thanks
