Default happen to check my oil today

And low and behold no oil shows up on the dipstick. Was down 3 quarts after 6k miles since first oil change. Where could the oil be going with none showing up on the ground. The inside of mufflers are black. But no smoke at start up or lights on. Added the 3 quarts are the car runs like raped ape. Wtf!!!!!!

I dont know the answer to your question but this kind of reminds me of a question i have :

Bottom right guage is oil pressure, correct? Would this guage read a bit lower if you had a lower oil level? Mine reads slightly to the high side.

My car has 18k miles, i havent seen any signs of oil loss, I havent checked for a while and ive only put about 3k miles on the car myself though. The insides of my mufflers are also black and i also dont notice any smoke or anything.

My car is bone stock other than axlebacks and tint

I have a base brembo car so I don't have the two extra gauges but yes that gauge is the oil level/pressure gauge. And my 08 premium also ready a little past halfway to the high side

I'm not sure how well the oil pressure gauge really does its job. From what I've heard out of others, many times it doesn't do a very good job at reflecting your true oil level at any given point in time. Mine also reads a little bit to the right of middle.

It is an oil pressure gauge....nothing to do with oil level. Also, it is more of an idiot light and not a true gauge......oil pressure is either there or not.

Again...gauge is for pressure
Dipstick is for level.

Might want to check the dipstick more than once every 6000 miles.

Plus, some of these new cars tend to use oil for the first 10,000 miles or so from other posts I have seen.

the dipstick is very inaccurate. make sure you insert it and clean it off multiple times and ensure you arent scraping it along the way up.

as others have said, oil pressure is different from oil level. the dip stick is the only way to get a good feel on the oil level.

at ~1500 miles mine was reading fairly low. it was reading at an acceptable level after I put a quart in. I am monitoring it now and keep a quart handy just in case.

Adding a quart of oil every 2000 miles is well within Ford specifications.
