Burning rubber in front of the cops is a great way to get a ticket...

Usually I tone my driving down alot. I coast by them in neutral so they dont catch on to the boomtube, deff not street legal in CA.

Other than that I usually smile, wave, or throw them some kind of a salute. If you live in a small town being polite and respectful can mean the world if you ever do actually get pulled over or into any other kind of trouble. A cops perception of you will be the biggest factor in how that goes. You dont want them thinking youre just another ******* with a flashy car.

I always kick it down a gear or two and set the cruise for 3 over, im friends with many police officers, most cops are ex military and bored it gives them a reason to follow you! ! Ha ha but i now live in a small texas town.. my new sheriff friend keeps a good eye on me

Yep.....they are like anyone else.

When I had my last two '66 Mustangs, I was in a parade sponsored by the local Sheriffs office. All thru the parade they wanted to see the tires smoke.....which I do not do in a parade. After it was over, I several uniformed officers come to me to "see" it run...which I gladly provided for them a showing.

Treat em like everyone else. Except when I get pulled over then I pay them the utmost respect. They have a hard enough job and no reason to make them nervous or upset them as a person.

I got pulled over about two weeks ago, and the cop was a complete dick to me. Took me to jail for reckless driving when all I did was make a lane change between two cars ( easily 59 yds of room) and then speed... Being 21 in a red mustang gt w. exhaust got me arrested. If I would have been in any other car it would have been a speeding ticket. Needless to say I got an attorney and have every intention of taking it to trial. I was driving aggressively not recklessly

We have cops on here, funny enough. I had dinner with a forum member that is also a cop just Saturday.
