Default Check Engine light On WHY!

O.K I have near 15,000 miles on my 05'. I have had no problems and regular maintance has been performed on it. The other day, when I started my car my neighbor brought to my attention that a light blue colored smoked came out of my exhaust. I was a little worried but had him start it the next day and nothing seemed wrong. Just yesterday my emissions light came out. I don't like to worry about my new car!! Anyone have advice before I call my ford dealer? Oil level and all caps are fine.

Thanks,

Peter T.

Do you have a hand held tuner? If so then it should be able to read trouble codes.

Did you experience a rough feeling when the car was started and still cold? if so you might be having a similar problem that I've been going through. Check my thread on the 4.6 V-8 Forum>>
https://mustangforums.com/m_686727/tm.htm

It started with them replacing an injector and now they think there's a problem with the valves.
The service tech said he smelled gas when he checked the tailpipe.
They didn't have the tool to check the 3 valves and I'm STILL waiting!
Good luck and let me know what they say.

Light blue smoke sounds like you are burning oil. You need to check for an oil leak.

Same thing happen to me on my 05 GT it was made September 2004. The dealer reset the thing and it hasn't done it since. The car always ran great. It was also a code for emmisions. No big deal. This is a recall I've heard from an Adminstrator that use to work here. He worked in the ford dealerships Maint. shops. Also it isn't uncommon for smoke to come out a pipe when hitting the acelerator hard at times.
