Introduction
Hello all,
Just wanted to introduce myself... My name is Don. I just sold my 97 Rio Red Cobra (I spent a lot of time on here in the 4.6/SVT section) and while I contributed, I never really introduced myself. Time went by and after almost 300 posts I felt it was almost too late.
I sold my Cobra while it was running good (it had 147k on it, with a replacement stock DOHC from MPS Auto Salvage after the original spun a rod bearing). A few weeks ago I began to feel like I should sell it while it was still running good; the car was in good shape overall but I was getting paranoid that something might happen to it that would cost a lot of money, (like when it spun the rod bearing) so I sent it on to a new owner. I don't think I could get away with spending another several k on another motor or tranny, etc... if something expensive were to go out on it. Plus, my wife was not interested in the car b/c she prefers the newer style. I too was wanting a newer car (I work with a girl that has a 2011 5.0 Cali Special, Race Red, w/Super Snake wheels). I park next to this beaut every day, so the newer Stang bug has really hit me hard!
So - I am Mustang-less right now, feeling some withdrawal yet still want to keep my head in the game until I can swing a newer 2006 plus GT (or possibly a 2011 - newer v6). I'm paying a few bills down right now so that I can get the car I want, rather than settle on something just for the sake of having another Mustang.
I hope within the next 6 months to a year to be able to park one in my (now empty) garage!

Well good to see ya in the S197 section Rokgtar! Yep, keep saving for what you want rather than settle! You're definitely on the right track so far.
I know how it is with the woman being a driving factor... my g/f really wants my next mustang to be black and prefers the newer models (SN-10s) over the S197s.

Love the color of your car BTW... But my wife does not like it... She wants Blue, Grey or White.
Part of the whole deal is that she will use the new Stang as a daily driver (she onlly works about 3 miles away from home) and I have a company car. We have a GMC Yukon XL that we use for family trips, vacation, etc.... That is her daily driver now. So whatever we buy, she has to like it as well...
