Default Question about rear shock tower brace

I ordered front and rear tower braces for my 12 GT from AM. I talked to a very knowledgable guy at my ford dealers service dept who has a modded GT. He was telling me that while it does its job well, it can make the otherwise comfortable ride very uncomfortable and way too stiff. very bumpy and not really a good idea as a basic stage one mod.

he thinks doing the front is a good idea, but maybe not doing the rear.

anyone have any experiences or knowledge they can share? this is my daily driver and i drive a lot.

No knowledge, but it's on my list for suspension stuff. AM's ad sold me, lol. Did your GT come with a factory front strut brace? If so, why are you changing it?

regards,
Deputy Dog haha

I put a rear tower brace on, also welded in, it will help stiffen the mounts up since they shocks are pretty much secured to sheet metal. After about a year with it on, only after the start-up and the first few feet of movement I get one popping noise coming from that area and then it disappears. I would however put a rear brace lower on the list of importance, if you want to upgrade the rear suspension save for the watts link or something along that line, I don't know if there is one for the '11 and up or if they are all compatible, but the watt's link will provide the best results for the rear suspension.
