Sct tuner
I was wondering if a Sct tuner would be of an benefit on bone stock 2010 Mustang Gt. I don't plan on any mods soon except for tires and new wheels. Also can you use the stock cai. I've heard it's not that bad compared to aftermarket ones.
Thanks

The SCT tuner is simply a device for loading and storing tunes. It's the TUNE that will make the difference; not the hand-held.
To answer your question, the '10 4.6L is the same as the '05 thru '09 with the exception of Ford's Bullitt tune for your additional 15 crank HP, equating to about 12-13 RWHP over the '05 thru '09s. Add a tune from Bama, Brenspeed or other excellent tune writer and you'll see roughly 8-12 more RWHP than what you're seeing now. Add a different CAI and it may add a few more RWHP but you are correct; the OE intake on the '10 breathes better than that on the '05-'09.

Will a tune also improve on the throttle lag? Sometimes when I floor it you get a little delay from the throttle. Also I think I've seen others say that a tune will improve the drivability of an auto trans, which is what I have.

Yes and retuning will make a WORLD of difference in the way it shifts if you have an auto.
BUT, if you aren't going to mod your car then take it to a specialty shop and have them re-tune it for you.
you might be able to sqweeze out a few more horses and you don't have to worry about breaking or losing the tuner

You want the tuner in the car. I've had a number of instances where I couldn't get higher than 87 octane in the middle of BumFuk and had to retune with the 87 custom tune. Still kick azz better than the stock 87 tune...

Our CAI flows more air than OEM, due to a more free-flowing design from our high-flow lifetime air filter and velocity stack MAF housing (that is also larger than OEM). It is made in the USA and features a lifetime warranty. The heat shield also seals to the hood liner when the hood is closed (using CAD engineering data from Ford), helping seal out hot air; it also utilizes the factory cold air duct work.
It's a very good choice as a combo with an SCT X3 tuner and Steeda custom tuning.
Let me know if I can help you with that.
