Security System Issue
Hello out there! I just bought a 06 Mustang GT about a week ago and this is my first post. (Hope im in the right area!)
I have a security system issue. (Its factory) When I press the lock button once using the remote the horn sounds twice. If i remember wouldnt you have to press the lock button twice to activate the system?)
Anyway. When i press the lock button once on the remote and the horn chips twice then literally 10 seconds later the alarm goes off! even when i use the lock button inside the car. The horn will chirp when i press it then chirp again when i close the door. and a few seconds later it still goes off.
Latly i have been just pushing the **** things down to lock the car but i was wondering what could be the issue.
I dont have motion sensors in the car! I thought i might add
Hope someone can help me out there!

I didn't think we have a hood switch.
I don't have the OM in front of me but I do know that it has some programming info. Can't recall if there's a default to factory settings...

Yes there is a hood switch, and check that first. My car did the same thing.
If it chirps twice the system is saying that something is open (door, trunk, or hood). The hood switch is quite often the issue and the cheapest fix. The switch is on the passenger side fender and looks like a little plunger.
And you have motion sensors - take a look at the overhead map lights. See the two holes on either side? That is your motion sensor. Put your windows down, lock the car, and then reach inside and you will set those off.
