Default Royal Purple Tranny Fluid

Ive been reading that it is a good idea to use this stuff. I have a 2012 GT Manual MT82. Is this is highly recommended fluid change or is this just a lot of propaganda at its finest?

royal purple is all a big marketing gimmick imo.

I have no beef with the oem fluid, but if I had to change it out, I'd probably put in amsoil or redline.

keep in mind though - this is one of those things that a lot of people have a preference on.

My dealer recommened I change out the factory fluid. I used royal purple due to other feedback and it's price was desen't much different than other brands through AM. No regrests, shifts great.

How many miles have you been running the RP fluid? Just curious.

Thanks,
Don

I can't speak for amsoil or redline, but the RP synchromax lowered my transmission temps significantly. The others may do the same, but anything that lowered the temp is a good idea.

I changed mine out at around 6000 miles and the shifts were without question smoother. I would recommend it for sure.
