Why did you purchase through Summit?
Just curious since even a quick search on the internet for (google) "Mustang Tuners" hits back with American Muscle and Steeda, two of top three aftermarket tuners....
Summit is great for buying catalog stuff but from my experience, not so great with supporting things like tuners since they do not have a dyno shop for testing the tunes that come stock (canned) on the aftermarket tuners so they do not make any changes.

You'll need to find a tuner that will build a tune that you can upload with the Diablo unit. The unit you bought is really just the mechanism to upload the tune. On these newer cars, almost anything worth doing for power is going to require a tune. It's not as simple as it used to be.
With some of the older injected cars, there were true chips, and "chips". The true chips were the equivalent of tunes, but back then the ECM didn't have flash memory, they used Prom chips that you'd replace, or pull and rewrite. I used to do this for my 66 GMC with Tuned Port Injection. Anytime I wanted a new tune, I'd drive it, datalog, write the tune, then pull the chip out of the computer, flash it, reinstall the chip and drive again.
"Chips" were either chips that changed very little parameters, or simply fooled the car into thinking the intake air was cooler to richen the mixture and bump timing.
My buddy used to buy into all that old stuff, buying any "chip", throttle body spacer, intake air foil, etc that was available. Pissing away money on useless junk.

Bama used to write tunes to support both SCT and Diablo, then they merged with AM. You may want to call AM and see if they'll write for Diablo. I recall hearing not too long ago that they had started again for anyone asking.
I concur that the canned tunes from Diablo/Summit aren't on par with AM and Brenspeed and a few others (but I think I said that in an earlier post). Most of the good custom tunes on the average mildly modded S197 are darned close to the gains from a good dyno tune.

Brenspeed and AM/Bama are very reputable companies and provide excellent custom tunes!
Are you able to connect your Diablo tuner to your computer?
If so, I would suggest contacting one of them directly and ask if they are able to provide you with a custom tune for your Diablo Tuner. If the Diablo tuner works the same as my SCT X3 tuner, they will create the custom tune specific to your car and the octane you choose. The higher the octane, the more aggressive the tune will be. Once the custom tune is complete, they will send to you via email. You will be responsible for downloading the new custom tune on your computer and uploading to your Diablo tuner.
