Default Traction control button

I know this is probably the dumbest question... But what exactly does the traction control do? I've experimented with it off. A little but I found no difference going around corners faster or in the rain

1 push of the traction control button takes off the traction control and you can spin the tires in a straight line, but advancetrac will kick in if you start to go sideways.

come to a complete stop with foot on brake and hold the traction control button for 5 seconds and traction control and advancetrac should be completely off allowing you to go sideways.

at a complete stop and push the button 2 times quickly will leave both TCS and advancetrac on but put it in a sport mode where they take a bit longer to kick in and apparelty it tightens up your steering a bit.

I usually just push the button once and have TCS off and advancetrac on , unless im planning on drifting. All these are what the settings are for the 2011 GT premium, i think the 2011 v6 has the same but im not sure.

Make sure brake pedal is depressed while preforming this function also or it won't activate sport mode

You can actually make changes while moving by just riding the brakes for a second when you tap the button.....works everytime on mine a a few others I have tried.
