tips - touch up detailing a car after a lengthy drive to a car show?
fellas -
what products do you typically bring along to a car show when you have to drive your car a fair distance (100+ miles)?
I imagine a few microfiber towels and a quick-detailer spray are a good start - but any tips from those of you with experience here? I imagine there is a lot I'm not thinking about.
thanks in advance.

Bucket to carry everything
Microfiber Towels
Tire Shine & Sponge
Washing Rag & Bottle of Water
I usually bring my tire shine and apply it after parking so it doesn't sling or get on the car while traveling to the show. I bring my car washing rag and a bottle of water (nothing special-filled up by hose) to very carefully clean any bugs off the front end or windshield.
Other than that I try to touch my car as little as posibble so I don't scratch it while hanging out at the show....the more you wipe it down, the more damage you can cause...but that's just me

Honestly I think you covered it - after a good car clean and polish, typical road grime will still 'roll off' with a good microfiber towel, especially if the car has not gotten wet. Maybe 1 bottle of clean water and one with a little soapy water in case the car gets nailed by a bird along the way...
Interested to hear what some pro's at this might say though.

all stuff I hear just swirls up the paint. throw the cali dusters away and get a good Wool duster. they actually sell nice ones at bed bath beyond for 9.99
Lightly dust off the car to get the heavy stuff off. After that get yourself some good MF towels. Not some junk you find in pep boys or walmart that is going to do nothing but swirl the paint.
Something like Chemical guys monster MF, or their Elite towels or the plush Autoality towels
http://www.autoality.com/store/pc/vi...&idcategory=16
then get yourself some optimum Opti-Clean or Ultima Watherless wash plus as your cleaner so you do not marr the paint from cleaning any excess dirt off the car.
this stuff mixes at 3:1 so 32oz goes along way
http://www.autoality.com/store/pc/vi...&idcategory=92
http://www.pakshak.com/ultima-waterl...neck-16oz.html
use just 1/2oz per 22oz water for the QD cleaner
So many times I go to car shows and see these people think they got some nice cars and their paint looks like they washed it with a brillo pad and looks like JUNK.
Ohh and dont use just 1 MF towel when cleaning off..if you drove a good distance expect to use atleast 3 to not get the towel to dirty and just marr up the paint basically making things worse.

As was mentioned a few times over . . . some microfiber towels and quick detail spray. I also bring some window cleaner, as the detail spray I use isn't super on glass, but awesome on the wax.
If you drop the towel at ANY point, either discard it or relieve it of paint duty and make it wheels/tires/engine only. I've got a whole stack of towers that I've dropped on the clean garage floor that will probably never touch paint again.
Mellow, I was at SEMA 2009 and 2011, and I must have missed your car both times. What section was it in? In the 2010 photo it looks to be upstairs near the 4x4 crowd, or maybe butted up against a Jeep vendor?
