Default MGW throw adjustment

Since you didn't install the shifter yourself, there's no way of knowing what the throw adjustment is set at. If you go to the MGW web site they have a very nice installation video that shows how to set the throw adjustment. The shortest throw comes with the maximum setting of 10 turns of the adjustment block. This will give you the shortest throw.

HxC, can you use the stock **** on the new shifter? I have the same ****, and was seriously looking at the MGW, but want to use that ****. Thanks

Just order it for the stock **** and it all goes together just fine. That's the way I have mine.

Yup, just order it with the 12 mm x 1.25 fine pitch thread, and you're all set!

Default Noise?

It's as quiet or quieter than the stock shifter. Just be sure to use the sound deadening they supply with the shifter.

My car didn't come with the factory sound deadening pad, so I used the two pads MGW provided. Skipped on the dynomat, and it's been fine. Actually more muffled since I had nothing before.

As far as noise, I did notice a little bit of buzzing that I could only hear in forward gears with the windows up at certain rpms, and it confused me for a bit. Narrowed it down to the shift boot area. Found that night that my friend hadn't tightened the allen screws completely down that attach the shift **** shaft to the shifter. MGW specifically states that you can CRANK on all their hardware. Haven't had it since!
