i would think you could get around 18 or 19k for it... if you are buying from them.

yeah what he said. but if youre buying from them go ahead and negotiate to the lowest price on the new car and then you bring your trade in into the discussion. you want the lowest price set on the new car youre getting and then you want to still try to get the best deal on the trade in...just a little tip for what its worth...

I don't plan on doing anything until I've had a little more time to look at my options but it wouldn't hurt to run by and get the ball rolling so to speak.

yeah i feel you. i want to trade mine in for a 2013 in about a year i have already tried to figure out what the price is about how much i will have saved etc etc. hoping that with my trade in and cash i will be able to buy a 13 v6 outright and keep that my last 3 years of college and then a year or two. if i like the new models i plan on buying it as agt but i cant afford that till im older and have a real job. insurance would kill me also. the new v6s are pretty quick so im good lol. but you need to try edmunds again. they should be saying more than kbb

Someone else said that KBB lowballs you, thru my experience, maybe it's just my part of the country I live in but KBB is usually way high on their estimated trade value and on resale values. I would look it up on http://www.nadaguides.com/ and see what they say.

Do the Autorader thing and get an offer.
My husband just went to a dealer yesterday to get a trade in on his 370z and that is what they used to get a "real value" which was ridiculously low. I just did it on my car for the hell of it and they offered $6,750.

If you aren't on any specific time crunch, try to sell your car outright.

did that recently, came up w 15k, thats a reasonable number to expect for trade in or straight dealer buy, sure i'd like more but it definetely reflects what to expect for an easy, quick deal.
i didn't do it since my wallet is not ready yet for the next ride and i would definetely start with an ad in autotrader to feel out the interest either way.
