Default 2010 GT Engine Knock?

Hey. I recently noticed a knocking sound coming from the right side of the engine on my 2010 GT. The car is an auto with 26000 miles. I'll post a video below.

Mod list includes JLT intake with a 93 tune and Pypes pype bomb exhaust.

The sound starts around 0:05. You may need to turn the volume up to hear it clearly.

Thanks

I'm not sure that's abnormal. Most engines have SOME amount of noise and I think if you put your head along either valve cover on just about ANY engine you'll hear something similar on most engines. Unless your sound clip isn't doing it justice...

It's very possible I just haven't heard it before. I know that the ticking is normal but it concerns me because the "knocking" sound is only on one side.

Sounds like normal fuel injector operation to me.

You're still under warranty, right? Drop by the dealership and have one of their better techs take a listen.

May sound strange, but a lot of little ticks and knocks like this are caused by a plug that is loose enough for the detonation acoustics to pass by. This was more common on the F-150, but also a nuisance on the BMW M42/M52/M54 heads as well. I just helped a neighbor with her M54 and it was this exact issue; plugs replaced/checked and not re-torqued to specs. Just a thought before calling the stealership.

knock sounds different then that. what you have is more of a tick. I'm not really sure if you have anything to worry about

if you are concerned, swing by a stang savy mechanic to have them check it out.
