Default Difficulty Shifting Into Reverse

When I shift into reverse, I have to use quite a bit of muscle to get it into gear, and sometimes it won't go all the way in. It was just mildly irritating at first but now I'm beginning to wonder if something's wrong. All my gears are a little hard to shift, but I assumed that's because I have a very short throw shifter. Any suggestions? Thanks

I'm not too familiar with the MT82 transmission yet, but reverse is prolly not sycronized (correct me if I'm wrong guys...)

My old SHO had a hard time getting into reverse too, and I've found this method to work ok:

If you have a hard time getting into reverse, take the transmission into neutral, take your foot off the clutch, re-engage the clutch and take it into 1st gear. Then take it into reverse. Seems to work for me, like butter.

he has a 2007 so its not the mt82, right?

slyter's suggestion is a valid one though. if reverse doesnt have a synchro (based on exp with other cars), it can be hard to get into gear at times. sometimes it helps to shove it into another gear, then into reverse, or sometimes it really helps to roll it forward or backwards an inch or two and try again.

Slip it into 2nd gear first, then reverse.

Completely normal. If you can't get it, put it in 1st or 2nd then reverse. If that STILL doesn't work, put it in first, slip the clutch to move an inch or two forward, then go to reverse. Works every time.

Again, completely normal

Ok, I think I'm getting good advice because, like y'all said, sometimes I'll have to make a 3 point turn or something of the sort and it will be like butter going into reverse. Same with all gears; sometimes they're butter, sometimes they're tougher beef jerky on PCP. I honestly haven't driven too many standards and I'm new to how a great transmission should feel. I just want my car to be top notch.

had same issue in my 2007. found if i couldn't get it into reverse to put it in neutral, foot off the clutch, tap the gas, then slide it into reverse.

I always push in the clutch and count to 3, it works every time. once the input shaft/clutch stops spinning it goes right in.
