Race Fuel Question
260GT seems to be the most widely available. I get 2 additional tunes in addition to my 93 tune, so I'm going to see what type of gains I can get with the race fuel, just for fun.

If you have the frequent occasion to take trips more than a few dozen miles from home, I suggest you keep a custom 87 tune on-hand. I used to drive over 400 miles from home every 2 weeks and had more than 2 instances where I was near empty and couldn't get anything higher than 87 octane. I grabbed the tuner from the trunk, loaded the 87 custom tune and was back on the road. And since the 87 custom tune runs circles around the stock 87 tune, I was still capable of putting stock stock GT's to bed.
Here this explains octane levels sortof.

Just a word to the wise (or anyone else that might listen)...

The OP isn't SC'd and he was the one asking about racefuel. My recommendation for the 87 custom tune was for peace-of-mind in a situation that would prevent you from being forced to run 87 octane on a higher tune.
Rick probably missed that the OP has a GT500...
The biggest thing is that if you are all stock (no mods) but want to run the higher octane tune, then still carry the tuner with you as Nuke said but for a different reason... so you CAN reload the stock tune... In stock tune, the PCM can adjust engine parameters to account for a lower octane or gas quality.. The aftermarket tunes do NOT. This way you can fill up with lower octane fuel if you run into a problem getting higher octanes and still have 3 custom higher octane tunes on the tuner. If you had mods then I would say to have a low octane tune on the tuner, but since your sig says bone stock, I think you're safe getting all three tunes as high octane (93 Street, 93 Race, 101 Race)...
