Canned tunes are designed to run on any S197. Custom tunes are specific to your PCM and adjusted for your mods and your cars set-up. Custom tunes will typically provide better performance and driveability. The beauty of the lifetime tunes is that you can request changes to any parameter that's causing an issue, for new mods, etc.
