How viable do you guys think an auto to manual tranny swap would be on a 2011 v6?

Supposing I pulled the tranny from a wrecked 11 for 1700 and then bought a new ecu.

I can't stand my auto, the performance seems so slack compared to a standard.

I've tried tuning it and that helps quite a bit, but now I've got a lot of shift shock and odd hanging issues when tuned and not tuned.

31K miles on the car to date.

Not sure but personally I wouldn't do it. Just pay the loan down until you can trade up. not worth it if you ask me.

 

Right?! Who would have thought such a site existed lol.

And I agree with Baker. Finish paying off your loan, drive the hell out of that car and maybe hundreds of thousands of miles later that engine will give out. Then you can swap in a V8 and a manual tranny.

 

Just trade it in for a manual...

 

If its not an issue for you to do it yourself I say why not. It would be a good learning experience.
