There's no question about it. If you're interested in performance, cai+tune is going to get you more than exhaust. And if you do headers/catless midpipe, you need a tuner anyways.

I love my C&L Racer and 93 Brenspeed tune

you have a lot of restraint. I've already spent 2k on mods and I don't even have the car yet.

C&L for the CAI and tune from American Muscle FTW...

More than 6K dropped in mods so far and it still continues...

Any advice would be appreciated or alternative mods also. Thanks a lot!

On the subject of a CAI. I have no idea what brand to go with. I like the thought of the Airaid Race CAI. Thanks again!
AlphaOmegaX,

These guys are pointing you in the right direction! As for the best CAI, there's a few great options here. My personal favorite is the Airaid because of it's ability to make killer power and clean engine bay look. We even carry an Airaid/Bama tune package for your GT!

This package is going to enroll you into our Free Tunes for Life program too. Eventually when you pick up some exhaust, contact our Bama team for 3 new custom tunes supporting the new mods. The best part about getting a Bama tune first is that you'll always have your Stang's PCM dialed in perfectly. We can always make adjustments, so the car behaves to your liking too.

If you have any tuning questions our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 10AM-3PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll happily help you out!

Exhaust is such a personal thing, I would take some time before making a decision.
hope this helps.

^^^ This.

Take your time listing to exhaust clips on Youtube. There are so many different set ups. I'm a big fan of the Roush Axel Backs though. They sound so mean.

Regarding which CAI is best....I highly doubt most of us have tried more than 1 CAI on our cars. So to really get a true comparison between them is going to be tough. People just aren't swapping out an Airaid for a C&L, then trying the FRPP and moving onto the JLT. The difference in horsepower between them I'm sure is negligible and most likely not noticeable if going by the "seat of your pants" feel.

Read the reviews, go with the one that gives you a warm fuzzy and gets great reviews. The Airaid Race sounds fun

CAI/Tune but which CAI is kinda a personal choice because they serve the same purpose. Exhaust is easiest and should come later,a lot of choices there too. American Muscle should be the website to go with

I'd go with the CAI/Tune first. Then the exhaust. That's just me though... As far as the exhaust, I go the Roush Axle Back, awesome sound. What I love about the sound is that it's mean and loud, but not obnoxious. Anyways, good luck with your choice...

I did CAI, SCT Tuned, CAT back exhaust. All were done with under 200 miles on the car, which was purchased new.

I put a C&L Race Intake, SCTx3 tuner with a tune from C&L...
I opted for the 91 Torque tune from them, Runs amazing..

That's the only mods I plan on doing.
