I have a glass roof and like it a lot. During the day I find myself needing to wear sunglasses with it open. Since I normally wear sunglasses while driving, this isn't a big deal, but something to consider.

2g is a lot though, and in retrospect I'm not totally sure it's worth that. For 800 or so, it would be an easy call, IMO. (I'm kind of frugal in general and splurged on my mustang.)

It was something I wanted to order, but for 2,000 it was a bit too much to justify for me. I also am fairly tall, and in Texas Heat & Sun, it was probably best to avoid it.

Yes, I even tried the "honey, we can watch the rain" justification.... :)

I hope no one paid 2k for the glass roof. Its like no one pays sticker price for the car unless its a Boss or GT500 and then let the gouging begin.

I have found there are no cons wih the glass roof except your monthly payment being a little higher.

I think it'd be nice, but would definitely not pay the entire $2k price tag for it....would negotiate it down.

Is it worth $2000 ?
I think the dark color of the glass roof looks good on a white GT/CS.

What's your anticipated use of this car? For trips, cruising, and most daily driving a glass roof is fine.

If you're going to become more hardcore about any form of competition, road course track lapping, or canyon running/blasting down curvy county roads, you'd be best off not getting it - probably as much for reasons involving reduced chassis stiffness as for the increased weight.

You'll also have to consider that sunglasses won't completely block distractingly strong sunlight coming from above. In the two cars of ours that have sunroofs, I've found I need to wear a hat or visor even if all I want is the headliner panels on those cars slid back, and this is even when I don't need the sunglasses for the view out the untinted windshields.

Do you guys really negotiate prices for each individual option on the car?? Generally don't folks pick the options they want .. figure out the MSRP and then negotiate from there? I just think it would be strange to negotation the $2K MSRP of the Glass Roof.

I got my car for $5,700 below MSRP .. so I figure I got most of the options on my car for free .... :)

Has anyone had any "pitting" in the glass?

Sticker is $1,995. Invoice is $1,781.

I would think that glass panel would add more than 20 pounds, way heavier than a piece of sheet metal.
