Default 2010gt, have the shaker500, Want the subwoofer for trunk??

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a 2010 GT and it came with the shaker 500 system which seems to work pretty well. I've read where some of these come with a shaker 1000 system and that adds a trunk mounted subwoofer to the system.

Is the trunk mount something I can just plug and play (existing wiring?) or am I going to have to run all the wires for everything.

Should I try to find a stocker sub or throw in some aftermarket sub enclosure system?

I'm not looking to rattle the windows, I'm just looking to ad a little more depth to it.

Thanks!

For the money, you're better off with an aftermarket sub because you're going to need amp(s) anyway. There's unfortunately no plug and play with the trunk sub on Shaker 500, they simply don't run the wiring.

I have the Shaker 500 with the 1000 sub.
Yes, you need an amp to run it. The 1000 sub has 2 10" dual voice coils.
I installed Rockford Fosgate FRP400-4 Refurbished Punch 400W x 4 from Crutchfield.
I figured if I had an issue with the sub, the amp was usable with an aftermarket sub.
The remote **** is in the center console and it sounds GREAT!!!

So we have factory 8" door woofers if we have the shaker500 system?
