Default Convertible Top care

Hello to everyone! I am absolutely new here. I just purchased a 2008 GT convertible and was wondering about proper care and maintenance of the top. My local Ford dealer said not do anything other than wash it with mild soap. Any suggestions???? P.S. I use to own a 1969 and 1970 Mach I way back when I was in high school. (Class of 74) I sure wish I had them today. Especially the 70. It was sweet. If I had only known what the value would be today, I would have taken better care of them back then!

nice cars you had. But anyways i use a product by Blue Magic. Its a convertible top cleaner. I dont wash the top with the same soap as i do the car because the top really seems to hold the suds in and every time it rains it will run. This stuff works wonders. First hose the top off and get any loose debris off, then spray the solution onto a rag and scrub lightly, it actually put a nice gloss on my black top, i highly recommend it

To clean my top I use R/V awning cleaner. You can get it at walmart in the R/V section of the auto area.

The top is cloth. I've read on-line about "Raggtopp" Is anyone familiar with this product? I just don't want to use anything that might damage the top. For a 2008 the top is in excellent condition. I'm looking for ideas from those of you that have tried and approve of a particular cleaner/protectant.
