Which would be better? Putting oem cats around my or-h pipe or having these welded in.

It doesn't matter if your car throws codes. There is a test that your car will fail without a proper setup including catalytic converters. You can make it look like there are cats there but that won't help you pass the test. They will fail you and tell you that the cats need replaced. Here's a link directly from the PA emissions site with more info on Catalytic converters in regards to testing in your state. Pay special attention to section 11.

That's not true at all. The guy I bought it from passed with flying colors, but he never had a visual test.

Why would I make this stuff up? You're going to fail the Idle test. I 100% guarantee it if you don't properly set up your catalytic converters.

So what exactly is the "idle test"?

Also OP, I would be careful getting a stock midpipe and having it hacked up. Reason is the ARH use a "slip joint" type exhaust connection, where the stock uses a "Ball and socket" type connection.

I just don't want you taking it to a shop, and having them weld the stock section to your pretty awesome headers, thats all.

Find a midpipe for a true LT (BBK, Stainless works, ARH, JBA) that uses the slip joint connector.

EDIT: OP, here is the JBA catted midpipe from AM:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/jba-sh...ed-0509gt.html

Its for a true LT, so it should fit the ARH, and it uses the slip fit connectors!

I was told that no other brand midpipe will fit the ARH long tubes. Also, I was considering having a shop fab a midpipe and weld the oem cats on it.

I'm pretty sure the JBA one should fit. JBA's are a full length tube, so it should be the same midpipe length. Also, you can tell from the pictures the JBA's use the same connector.

You can also use a prochamber for the ARH too.

Who told you nothing else worked?

I'm guessing you didn't even open the article. Try that, give it a read and let me know if you have any questions.
