Default What you think?

Yesterday, I went dropping my car again to the dyno at the race strip, guy gonna keep the car for a week and do test on cold start to see how im running and why im having exaust explosion with fuel etc, test injectors etc, while driving 1hour n 30minute my way down to race place, i found out there was a event and lots of people were racing, so I said why not give it a little try while being here, I did two run on street tire (my huge 20'' lol) and wow, I had a HUGE improvement on my 60' feet time and 1/8 time, I was happy, at the end I didnt touch the 12s but at least, I did better then I ever did even when I had street drag slick.

time are: 13.20 104 mph 2.01 60' 8.70 1/8 on first run
second was my best ever: 13.09 106.5 mph 1.87 60' 8.53 1/8''
Ive improved my drag driving alot, got better trick, figured things out,
the only problem now is my top speed a bit weak, im supposed to touch to the 12' with a 5lbs roush m90, i dont know if my 4.10 might cause me some trouble to get my top speed, or if this is related to maybe a bad injector, ill know what are my real RWHP number before friday, figuring im around 350 to the wheel on a MUSTANG dyno. here in canada we do not have same air condition but still, what do you guys thinK?

Who did your tune?.. and lots of variables here, what was your DA at the track.. If I had to through out a number I'm figuring about 330rwhp with those numbers.. No reason you shouldn't be hitting 12s though with that trap speed.

the only good mustang tuner around, he made his place in here that why he own the dyno shop that is located INTO the drag racing place, he tuned mostly all the mustang that are draging over here, he own a 12' gt with a paxon supercharge, stock pulley stock intake stock exaust, running 10.09s, he have a low profile fox body mustang running 9.80, hes good with mustang, everyone that run his tune with the new coyote run low 12s. BUT, that the point, im not running a totally finished tune, the tune is a canned one from him for the same setup I have, he does have couple of things to perfect this week, and to make a proper final touch, hopefully there is something to do to hit the 12s, ill be happy after that hit the 12s and solved back fire issue would mean finally a complete working car. maybe 20'' is too big to drag with? could lost 0.3 second..? just brainstorming..

Well you can definitely improve on your 60' no doubt about it.. I'm telling you, the way your car is right now can hit 12s with driver improvement... And a canned tune isn't really good with your mods, it needs a proper custom dyno tune.. Like I said, to me it looks around 330rwhp, you should be able to squeeze out another 30hp easily..

On a street tire that's good, but you can always throw some stickier tires on their and drop it a tenth or more.. And yeah, keep it posted on your numbers

it now run a stock motor instead of the forged cammed one, i removed the crank pulley, so im back to 5 lbs instead of 10 lbs, we went this route cause it was too much trouble, but at the end, the car is still back firing on cold start, so the last problem remaining is somewhere else then in the engine.

i didnt use it much lately, was waiting until now, to get it re-checked and tested to solve the last damn issue which is: cold engine start make bake fire for 1 minutes then when the engine is hot, it work fine. to give you an idea, with 10 lbs, cammed ported head and forged bottom, my best run was 13.45 out of 7 try., after bringing it to the dyno, the car was running 330 rwhp...like wtf.. something was wrong with maybe the cam..maybe the engine itself, the tune also, it was too much trouble for me, and im zero mechanic, had to deal with what was offer, we repaired the heads that were heated a bit, causing a bad compression in one cylinder and the car was still running horrible after that and it started heating and outflowing coolant from my coolant tank for no reason. so i gave my engine in exchange of a new 2010 stock block + some cash to pay all the labor.
end of story:/

Wow, sounds like you got screwed on a bad tune initially.. that is if all that you had were good working parts and installed correctly...
