Pulled over 18 times in 2012
When I first saw this thread a couple of days ago, it was the halos that drew my attention.
While they may not be technically illegal, they're probably crowding close enough to not being legal that they constitute justification for getting you stopped. That your car is also orange certainly makes it more difficult to determine the exact color of the halos. IOW, it isn't for what color they are, it's for what color they're close enough to to be legitimately questionable. That you have a need to carry written proof of their color should be telling you something and that maybe an individual LEO or two didn't like being called red vs orange wrong by a piece of paper.
I'm not in LE, so my opinion doesn't carry any "official weight". But as an immediate reaction on first sight you ought to count it for something, maybe as a hint about how psychology might be fitting into it all in spite of the absolute legalities involved. FWIW, I've been pulled over only six times in almost 50 years driving.

I never drive with these halos on though because you can't even see them during the day. The only time I use them is when it's sort of dark out but that only last about 30 min until I need to turn my headlights on. In other words during that 30 min I'm able to use them I'm never driving so I use them like twice a week. But yeah I see what you mean
yeah i've gotten pulled over being accused of selling illegal substances when i dont touch any of that stuff other times going 5 over the speed limit and times when i have my seat belt on they pull me over cause they think im not wearing it haha! makes me laugh
A cop recently pulled me over for improper use of
Turn signals. This was the 18th time I've been pulled over this year so far. I have a mustang... It's orange... And it's loud. In other words it's a cop magnet. But sometimes I feel as if I'm being picked on by the cops. I've been pulled over twice for my tires touching the center line and another time i ran a yellow light and my friend that was 5 car lengths behind me ran the red light yet the cop pulled me over and not him. And many other stupid ones like merging on the highway too soon. They don't give me tickets but I constantly am getting pulled over. Do you guys get picked on by the cops as well? I'm not complaining just wondering if it's a mustang thing.

Kevin - man you're in my neck of the woods it would seem, I daily drive by KSU from Woodstock, over to where I work in Kennesaw (across the st from Cobb airport).
Not sure it's a Georgia thing. In Kennesaw, Ga. it is for me anyway. This one motorcycle cop pulls me over, or turns around and follows me whenever he sees my GT on the way to work. No matter which route I take, I still have to go in that direction. He's given me three tickets for window tint. I had it redone, and he stopped me again, saying it was too dark. I went to the Acworth Police where I live, and the officer there didn't even bother to get out the meter, and asked what was my real reason for coming by. When I told him he laughed, and said the motorcycle cop was being a jerk. But, my tint technically might be to dark by just 2%. That's enough to give a ticket he said. So, I paid all the tickets, had the windows redone again! This week going to work, he came, turning around from the opposite direction. He made an ILLEGAL turn to catch me, but I guess the tint finally made him happy. He's the ONLY one who ever bothered me about window tint. And it's been on the GT for 10 years, go figure....Got a ticket for speeding last month, but deserved that one. I wish I could just get a warning, ONCE IN A WHILE.
Ah how I love being a mechanic. I work on the local GSP chargers and crown vic cars. I got a ticket from a newbie GSP claiming I was speeding....technically 60 in a 55 is speeding but around here it really shouldn't matter as most do 10-15mph over....anyways, that same day, the head supervisor over the local GSP post happened to come in. Told him my situation, gave him a copy of my ticket, and then he took the original copy and ripped it up and said "its taken care of".....perks of my job haha
I got pulled over in my '08 wearing scrubs, shes was pretty cool, let me go after she found out where I worked.
But i'm sure if i get pulled over outside of works clothes its uh oh time.

Very well said and your absolutely right. I can't tell you how many "close enough's" I've had won in court with those lights. Close only count's in horseshoes and hand grenades.
Read most of this thread. My opinion, cops that pull people over for stupid **** aren't worthy of their badge. Harrasing innocent people who do not commit crimes because they are bored. Find something better to do with your life effers!
Where I live, the cops are out protecting their citizens and not dicking them over. I have illegal tint, too loud a car (and its getting louder), tinted tails, clear turns with non amber lights, no front plate and I rund 6 lights at night on the front (four is the legal limit). I have driving by highway patrol cars and my city cops, been in the gas station parked with them numerous times... never been pulled over. However, I have 0 tickets for anything and I don't dare go more than 5 over the speed limit. Ohio is bad, what can I say. Only once, in some small hick town, did i get followed by a cop. And I told my wife before I met her there I was going to hvae trouble with the police. Didnt pull me over though.
