ORIGINAL: Hammermill

I cannot understand where he thinks it looks like the 65'. If anything it resembles the 69-70' fastback IMO. As for the preformance I have to agree with Crue, if you want that kind of preformance you are gonna have to sell an organ to get it in a stock vehicle. Plus, IMO the appeal is the classic muscle car look with modern parts not just the way it handles. I'm not sure where else your gonna get that from any other company or vehicle anywhere in the world but my bets are NOWHERE. And if someone does do it, it won't be for 25-26k base price!
I agree 99%...just I see a bit more 67-69 in there. heres what I want mine to look like someday(more 69-ish):

What an assclown. Clearly has his joy stick up Europe's ***...

I believe the Friggin' Yank doesn't get it does he?

Oh well, let him drive a Mini !
Am I reading this correctly? Are you calling him a yank? We're the "yanks," englishmen are "limeys."

i love the part where he said it handles like a newborn donkey. that is the funniest thing i have heard in awhile. i wonder what the price is on the car that puts out 500bhp from a similar sized engine? i am willing to bet alot more than i have in my car. anyhow the brits are great people, they are like americans only different.

This guy must make TOO Much Money being a critic... He it talking like an aristocrat who drives a Bently.

You JUST can't compare the Mustang against a Beamer.

My Mustang GT - all options - Convertible.. MSRP around $35,000

Now.... to try to compare THAT to BMW... First I matched Car - Car... Which would be the BMW M3 Convertible.

M3 Convert ... 333HP from a 2.5L V6. Price configured like my mustang - $57,300 If you tried to save $ by going NO Convertible = $49,600

now... V8 to V8... is the BMW M5.... 5.0L 500HP... This puppy lists configured like the mustang for $85,395... and it is NOT a convertible!

Wow.... 56 grand for the extra 200 horses!... I would rather buy 2 mustangs... throw 10 grand into one having the engine blown and still have change for gas and insurance.

There is no match for Mustang to M3. M3 has 333 hp 3.2 I6 not v6, That's 108hp/L output. Fully indenpedent suspension with aluminuim bodywork, big brakes, light weight(for the class), nice interior. I am not picking bimmer's side. But Mustang is not the same league as M3.

I believe that was his point. That jerk was acting like this wonderful $25,000 car should perform like a +$50,000 car. Although in the looks department, we have all comers hands down. Well said Professor.

Clarkson could be a little less picky. But he only compared the engine output from the mustang to similarly displaced bimmer. Of course all those extra bimmer's power come at a premium compare to mustang. He has never compared performance, driving dynamic to a bimmer but instead he compared it with a fwd Golf GTI which is a hot hatch. Professor is clearly thinking that mustang is in the same league as M3 which I totally disagree. As for look wise, I like Mustang retro look. M3 is still a far superior car at a premium. You got what you pay for. No hate intended.
