Default Which engine B302 or B326?

Does anyone know what kind of HP an TQ #'s would come from Brenspeeds B302 and B326? I am looking at either a short block or supercharger for next spring and with 100K miles of abuse on the engine I am not sure how long I would get with a blower. Would still like to see a substantial upgrade in power but would like to keep it reliable as well.

The 326 is going to make more power, no questions asked. Obviously the additional cubes help, but since its a big bore motor, it will un-shroud the valves and help make power.

B326 all the way

B302 in and of itself won't make more power than the stock motor. The lower compression offsets the cubes. It will shift torque left on the curve though.

Hey BigMike, there is a very good posting from Brenspeed about their Goldmember's Brenspeed B326 that they recently installed over on the S197 Forum...see Brenspeed in Vender area.
It's currently at 650 whp with a Roush supercharger and going 10.6 ET in the quarter mile at 126 mph. It's a 4000 lb car !!!
My B326 is going in over the Winter with FRPP CNC Ported Heads and i'm hoping for 650-700whp. We will see....!!

Do you know how much boost that guy is running? I'm kind of thinking going with the 326 and ported heads next year, but I'm thinking of running the same 10psi boost and see if the car can surpass 600rwhp like that.

I went with the B302 instead of the 326. Mostly because it was cheaper, and the iron block 326 is 60 plus pounds heavier. I went all out on my combo, heads, cams, a long list more, and it gets very expensive. I'm running the Steeda 20lb Whipple 10 rib conversion just to keep the belt slip away. The best place to ask your question though, would be to contact Brenspeed themselves and talk with Chandler. He will send you a list of all the other things you need to go with the short block, and what each of the two combos has to offer. There is a lot more you will need.

10psi will be cutting it close to pull 600 wheel.. Depends on what CR you have and what size blower you have.. A large air blower, you might do it. Something a bit smaller, would probably take around 12-15psi.. I'm thinking that car with the TVS was pushing 16+ easily to make that.

If you don't mind me asking, what did that entire setup run you?

Give u an idea of cost for the b302. I have recently purchased a
L the gaskets bolts and other miscellaneous parts for the install and it came up to around 1300. Plus the b302 which is 2200 plus another 1600 on top for machining and labor. Ur looking at 5000 without extras.

The short block, heads, throttle body, cams, springs, retainers, cooling mods (new radiator, and AFCO dual fan heat exchanger), new accessories, 10 rib supercharger drive, modified oil pan (needed), GT500 oil pump (needed), New cam chains, all of the gaskets, bolts, and more things that I can't remember were a tad over 10k. I already had the Whipple and the dual fuel pumps to go with it. I took a couple of years to shop for sales and deals before going through with it. Having to fortify the rear end, to handle it all, also cost a decent penny.

Unfortunately all of the things needed to do it right add up in the end. Take your time and do it right, and you will have a car that is more reliable in the end.
