Default 2005 trunk mat

putting things in my trunk is such a pain! The center of the mat seems to collapse if I put anything in there 10lbs or heavier. The cheap factory cardboard glued to a carpet is a sorry excuse for a mat! Am I the only one with this problem?

Is there any aftermarket solution?

I think there's supposed to be a support between the tire and the mat, maybe yours is missing?

On second thought, let me go down to the car and check, I don't remember the last time I looked in there.

Holy cow... is that what that is? LOL. I think that's laying around my garage somewhere.. if it didn't get vacuumed up.

Good choice on your mirrors with your color. And louvers. And chin spoiler. And grill. AND rear spoiler.

Do what im going to do. Pull the spare tire, cut out the spare tire well, weld a 20-22 gauge sheet of stainless flush with rest of trunk, clean it up, and put the previously mentioned mat back in (optional)...problem fixed.

Although I think we have different motives...lol

Disclaimer - don't actually do this just so your trunk mat sits flush.

The trunk liner is holding-up fine in my F150 Mustang.

Maybe the additional square inch support from the foam compressor block helps.
