Pypes X-Pipe Installed (reworked)
I installed my Pypes axle back exhaust this past week, but was looking for another type of clamp to use on the x-pipe as I did not want it welded in place. I ordered a reducing band clamp from Jegs but it turned out not seat type enough to seal (sending them back).
So here is what my exhaust guy made me this morning. A 3" ID x 2-3/4" section.
My brother and I cut the x pipe back to ensure it was the same length.
Then welded the new sections in place. Not to bad of a job for some amateures.
It all bolted back into place with the stock clamps, no leaks. Sounds great on the car. Not bad for a couple hours worth of work.
