Check out my 4.0 Super Charger project thread in the pipes, boost and juice section. I love my car as well so that's why I did it.

How would I go about swapping in a 5.4? Wouldn't that cost quite a bit of money? I looked at some stuff on here already and everyone was saying that to put a bigger engine in it you almost Have to have a donor car..

either of the swaps cost a bit of money, but the jist of it is you need the motor, transmission, rear end, computer, and fuel system. Pretty much everything but the body. If you score a good deal on a totaled car, that has good mechanicls in tact, it is a good project, short of that, we go back to selling your car and just buying that platform.

If your considering a motor swap though, then why are you not looking at changing the car? I thought you wanted to stay V6? What color is your car?

Yeah I thought I'd entertain the idea of an engine swap, but that involves a little too much for my taste. So I'll be sticking to my original plan of beefing up the v6. My stang is yellow with black stripes, also a convertible. So far as far as parts go this is what I have picked out-

ford racing 8.8 rear end with trak lok and 3.73 gears
ford racing true dual exhaust conversion kit
pypes shorty headers
xcharger xtreme supercharger
Eibach pro systems plus suspension kit

And of course a good tune. Anything else that I may need?

Lol well part of the reason I want to keep mine is because I have a loan on it, and yes I know I could use the money to pay it off and sell or trade it for a gt but then I wouldn't be able to afford mods. And with the mods I listed for my 4.0 I'll be making more hp and torque than a stock gt.

The 3.73 is a little much for the Xcharger. It builds power down low and the 3.73 will make it tough to get the rear tires hooked up. The 3.55 is a better option.

I would get some upper/lower controls arms along with some new tires to handle all that power, and if you have the base V6 model then some sway bars as well (these can be found pretty cheap sometimes, especially if you go GT takeoff).

Are you considering doing runs over 120mph? If you are, then I would recommend getting rid of the 2 piece driveshaft, and getting a new single piece because the stocker is well known to have the U-joints come apart at high speeds, and cause the DS to go out of alignment and possibly explode.
