Default Mufflers

Im going to be putting magnaflow or flowmaster axle backs on my 13 GT/CS.
In the catalog I saw a big selection of mufflers without tips or hangers attached and at a low price!
Has anyone bought these types of mufflers and attached the tips and hangers? Is it possible to attach hangers and have it hang correctly? How do i know what size muffler to get?

those mufflers are not for axelbacks, it would be a bitch to put hangers on and get them to line up correctly. the pipe coming in would have to have the right bend to align with the overaxel pipe then the exit would have to line up with the rear cutout. a rear stainless steel would then set you back more money. just go buy a set made for your car put them on yourself, way cheaper unless you have a pipe bender, welderand the time to figure it all out.

Definitely not worth it unless you can do the work yourself, if you take it to a shop you might wind up paying the same that you would of if you had gotten some that were already done.

If you're looking for a good set of axlebacks, get Borla stingers. I had Flowmasters on for about a year. They weren't what I expected sound wise and they began to mke a wierd rattling noise. After getting the Borlas installed, I've been satisfied since.

Gt500s for the win!! I ran magnaflow streets for about 2 months and last night traded for the gt500s. The sound is awesome and they aren't crazy loud, but def noticeable. This is how a 5.0 should sound. Nice deep rumble and the gas pedal determines how loud u wanna be.

i used to work at an exhaust shop, so i know how cheap a shop can buy flowmasters for(40 series about $45 their cost) so i thought the axle back lits were a little spendy. So i took my 08 gt/cs to the local exhaust shop and ahd them install aset of 40 series flowmasters with 3" tips. it took about 1.5 hours. and with a good installer they hang and look way better than the stock ones did. Granted they are alminized steel not stainless, but with the stance of my car you cant see them anyways. All said and done for $350.00 AND kept my $$$$ in my community, which is always a plus for me. The 40 series have a nice deep rumble, get quiet around 15-2000 rpm, but sound awesome everywhere else in the rpm range.not extremely loud. I would do it again no problem
