Default cpu stuck in aftermarket mode

well ive been doing a check up on my mustang to make sure its running good with a friends that works at my local ford dealer. it seems that the computer on my stang is stuck with a aftermarket tune, and he is not able to change it back to stock with his work computer. so what he said that needs to be done is to flash it back to stock. anyone know where i can send it to be put back to stock? or any diffrent opinions? thanks

Do you have a tuner with your stock tune on it? That would be the most obvious response.

Do you want it reflashed to stock? I guess that is the more pertinent question. If so, then the stealership should be able to do that for a hours work of labor, unless your friend was going to do the work off the books. If so, then I would not recommend that for you or him. If there is a problem after you drive away, you wouldn't have any paperwork/documentation if you have to pursue legal action against them for shoddy workmanship. If he gets canned for doing paid labor for free, imagine how you'll feel when he has to live out of his car.

Just pay them to do the work and they should be able to. If they say they can't go to another stealership.

I just went through having to flash back to stock.

The Ford dealer I called quoted me $150.00 to flash it back to stock. I wound up contacting a local speed shop, they matched the dealers cost and I had them do it.

What struck me as odd, he used an X3. I can only figure that they have an X3 for each strategy code, since he checked my code, then came back with an X3 and restored the stock tune.
