I pulled the ones off of the hood already and am toying with removing the side stripes myself.

I love the clean look on a black car and the stripes don't play into my future theme of Black and Emerald Green.

Make it your own -Listen to NO ONE (even me)

It would be the first thing I would do to it when I got it home, or else have the dealer remove them before delivery.

I appreciate all the feedback! Question: if i leave them on for now and decide to take them off down the road is it likely there will be a noticeable difference in the paint job?

i would change them out to flat black and keep the gt/cs. if the stripes stay on very long, they will be noticable when removed

If resale value is your primary criteria, bone stock is the way to go. RThe average buyer wants a good example of a Mustang. If it is custom, you have to sell them on that, too.

If you are keeping the car for a while, make it the way you want. It is your car, do what makes you happy!

I hope this is useful

I have a 2011 GT/CS. Race red and I removed the stripe and added the 5.0 badges. I think it looks much better.

Stripes are to make a fat person thin - they make the Mustang thinner.
I'm old school 70's Mach1, I like the fat look so I'd take them off and unless you're going to keep it in a sealed chamber for 30 yrs and not change anything yeah it will reduce your resale value. But I want the fat look.
