The V8 has stronger components than the V6, that's what the extra $10K USD gets you. the V8 version is similar to your holden, just an ecu tune and it will hold together up to the limits of the engine, but even it won't get up to speeds you reference for the holden, for that you need the 5.8L GT500... unless you do some heavy duty modifications and run around 18+ LBS of boost on the 5.0.

a combination of the higher torque of the larger displacement, the better aero of the body design, and I'm sure a 6-speed transmission.

No, not at all. You are missing the point here - it is not all about the engine.

Faster does NOT mean better. As you get older, you will begin to understand that (I hope)

You are still comparing a V-8 product that was built for the european/asian market vs. a V-6 built for the U.S. market.

sorry to say but without a tune a 2013 v6 (3.7L) can not do 220km.
I have a 2013 with a tune, they now come with a speed limiter on them because of the drive shaft. I can do 200KM+- or 125mph+-.
If you get a new upgraded drive shaft they will up your speed limit.

A tune won't void your warranty*. An aftermarket driveshaft won't void your warranty*. NOTHING aftermarket will void your warranty*. If an aftermarket item is the direct cause of a failure/problem, then they can void the warranty for THAT work only.

* unless you're a gutless wuss and ask "How high?" when someone tells you to jump

Actually, there's no telling what they will and can do in Dubai, but what Nuke said is correct for the USA.
