thinking of a 2011 or a 2013 v6 need some help
hey guys just sold my 05 v6 convertible i drove it for 6 years and put 40k miles on it i never abused my car in any way but i have to say all the little things that went wrong in that 6 year time frame really bothered me heres the list 1. front passenger leak 2. shaker cd player broke 3. stuck e brake lever 4. speedometer needle broke, so now i was thinking of jumping into a 2011 or 2013 but wanted to know if any or all of these problems still happen with 11's or 13's and is there any new problems for the 11's or 13's thanks guys

wow.....you drove it for so long and only put 40K on it? That's amazing...
I can't commnt whether these things will happen but the 2013 has HID lights stock, a much niver tail light (has black covering all over)
For that alone, I would only go for the 2013

Although I don't have the V6, I can tell you that my 2011 has held up quite well so far. It's been about 2 and 1/4 years now and I can't really complain about anything. The price of a 2011 is going to be much lower than a 2013, so depending on your budget, that's something to keep in mind.
My fiance has a 2006 V6, and particularly when it comes to the interior, quality is way worse than the new 2010+ models. Of course the 2010+ is still no BMW by any means, but rattles are far less present, all of my electronics etc haven't had any problems at all, and things like exterior sound have been much better dampened. From what I can gather, the 3.7 engines have been holding up well too, at the beginning there were a few weird panics but since the very beginning I haven't really heard any consistent issues springing up.
If it makes any difference, the other car I drive is a 2009 Camry, which for the price has impressive interior build quality etc. and at least my mustang feels on par with that, at this point.

Personally I hate the front end on the 13's but love the tail end. My 11 has been good so far, 36000 miles and no problems besides the paint bubbling under the hood (fixed under warranty). It really depends on your budget. You can get a used 11 for way cheaper than a new 13.

Wow, 40,000 in 6 years. My 2006 4.0 convertible had 203,000 on it when I sold it for my 2013.
I have now put 18,000 on the 2013 since getting it in June and haven't had any real problems to speak of. The ambient lights went out, but they replaced a module and haven't had a problem since. I had them check a noise from the rear end, but decided it was just the Pirelli road noise (need to get the Nitto Motivo that I had on the 2006, a lot quieter tire).

Those are the only issues you had with a car in 6 years? Yeah I'm not sure those are really reasons to complain too much.
As for the water leak, no that was fixed in '07 or '08 so the new ones won't have it. I personally think the '13s look a tiny bit better than the '11s, but they're both great looking cars. You really can't go wrong. Although you may be able to get a used '11 5.0 for the same price as a new '13 V6, so that's something to think about.
