Default Which handheld tuner?

So have made decision to go with BAMA tunes (street/performance/racing) over the Procal.

Now going to the site I see:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/2010-m...ps-tuners.html

SF3/X3 (379)
SCT iTSX wireless (469)-(appears twice for some reason..)
SCT LiveWire TS (599) - (also appears twice?...)

This would be my first tuner/tunes ever purchased. Car is 2012 GT Auto - only possible future mods would be CAI, GT500 exhaust and wider tires.

I would go with the SF3/X3 for the price but would like the performance measuring features of the others (like the Track App on the 2013s) and wouldn't mind paying for this.

Anyone have experience with the iTSX or the LiveWire TS? I am somewhat concerned that these are new and may not be as tested/reliable as the SF3/X3. Very few reviews.

Any advice, pros/cons or hands on experience would be greatly appreciated.

I have the SF3/X3 I didn't want to spend the extra money on the Livewire or wireless tuner. For as little as I have had to use it very easy and does its job.

I had an older 7" android tablet I never used. I bought the iTSX and keep the tablet and tuner in my center console. The iOS software version is nicer though.

I went with the SCT Xcal3, since I don't race or take my car to the track.

rogan01,

If you're just looking for some quality custom tunes to upload and change on your GT, then the Bama SF3 tuner is perfect. You'll be able to hold 3 custom tunes at a time and change to different tunes as frequently as you like.

However, you said you were interested in logging performance gains and differences, so the iTsX & LiveWire TS are excellent for just that. IMO, I would go with the new LiveWire TS that we just got in the other day. It's the perfect size display to have on your lower windshield and view while you're driving. Plus, it can hold up to 10 custom tunes at one time (like the iTsX), so you'll be able to keep a lot of different tunes on hand for different occasions.

Again, I don't think you can go wrong with choosing any of these tuners. They're all great products and get the job done. Let me know if you have anymore questions!

Shane - Why do the iTsX and LiveWire appear twice on the site/page?

Thanks all for the feedback.

Rogan,

We have two different options for the Same part number. You can get any of our devices Pre-loaded with canned tunes from SCT or you can get the device Pre-Loaded with Custom Tunes from Bama! To avoid any confusion with shipping & in Bama's system, we have different Sku's even though it's the same item.

I hope this helps clear things up! Let me know if you have any further questions or need some assistance. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

rogan01,

It's the same product for either option. One should say for all Mustangs 96-13 and the other is to help people find products for their particular Mustang. So when you're searching for 05-09 GT, you'll find the tuner is for a 05-09 GT even though is really works for all Mustangs 96-13. It helps give new customers confidence that they're choosing a product that will 100% have the correct fit for their Mustang -if that makes more sense!

Shane
