Default Bad Remote Keyless Entry Range

I lost the original remote control that came with my car a few months back, and had been using just the key until I decided to buy a new remote. I finally got two new remotes, and was able to program them successfully, however, the range on them is so bad, that I basically should just use the key. Before I lost the original remote, it worked just fine and had a great range.

I did some research and it looks like the cause of it is a bad SJB or something related to it. I opened up the passenger foot well and do not see any sign of water leakage (I live in Arizona, so not a lot of rain), and everything physically looks OK.

I loosened the main bolt holding the SJB to the chassis so I could inspect the back of the unit and found that there is nothing attached to the blue connection that is supposed to be for an antenna! Either I am misreading some diagrams, or I am missing the antenna completely. My car does not have the TPMS, but I thought that the antenna was for both the keyless entry system and the TPMS when equipped.

I looked around as much as I could for any missing or loose wiring, but was not able to find anything.

Can anyone verify that an 06 GT premium package, is supposed to have an antenna connected to the back of the SJB?

Any help or further guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

-Alex

Try replacing the battery in the remote?
