Default V6 Limited slip

Hey guys, this is my first post!

I have a 2006 V6. And I know that the v6s have the 7.5 rear end with the 28 spline axles. I was looking around and found some diffs from older mustangs with the 8.8 rear ends but with 28 splines. I didn't know if those diffs would fit or work in my car. Does anyone have information on this?

Thanks!

Going to be tough to put something almost an inch bigger than the housing inside the housing!

Can't put 8.8" stuff inside the 7.5" housing. It isn't the axle splines that is the problem.

Cheaper to just get an 8.8 take off rear end and swap it in the long run anyway.

When you do decide to make the swap, not every 8.8" rear end will fit. You have to get one from the S197 (2005+) Mustang. I see people asking about earlier rear ends because they are cheaper

Hey, I got another question! Will a 1994 Ranger 2x4 with a 7.5 diff work on my car?

I'm not sure but the muffler bearings are interchangeable.

I do not believe that would work. Looks to be two different rear suspension systems. That being said, I do have limited knowledge on the subject of '94 ranger rear axles so I could be wrong.

Well they're both 7.5 and 28 spline axles.

I understand that but it's doesn't appear to be for the 3-link rear suspension system on our Mustangs.
