Default Paging Ford4V429 :)

Hey we have the same taste it seems we like the retro & old muscle look need your opinion. My car (Black) is comimg with the 17' 5 spoke painted alumium GT wheel. I like how the car (picture took of simlar car that I look at) looks with them but then I come here & net see all the aftermarket wheels and look at the picture then it does not look as good. I like old 5 spoke look.

What do ya think of these wheel Torq Thrust II ? (anyyone else too).

I really like these Torq Trust II (look deep dish to)

I also like those a lot. the deeper lip adds a LOT to the look. Sharp looking car for sure.

Probably 'bullitt brainwashed' but I kinda still like the old painted centers...Did you ever see the TASCA BOSS429? it was orange/gold with orange wheel centers- looked very cool to me...IF (BIG IF) I ever changed wheels, it would be torq-thrust style, but deeper(like you pictured) color keyed centers, probably with the 'knockoff' centercaps/tri-bar logo...but thats just me dreamin. Personally I am kinda torn between polished/machined look also...work at a shop that machines wheels, so have seen some of each come and go that were 'best'...diamond insert turned is beautiful- looks like a compact disc, but if the powdercoat gets chipped, its done. to me some 'feedlines' look better on some parts- just has a more techy look to it, knowing it was cut, not just sanded/buffed...I dunno...

as for a black car, I dont know...IMHO I think low profile tires make it a bit too 'blingy' for me...I'd probably opt for black centers, above mentioned caps and red calipers to accent it. just my 2 cents...whatever looks best to your minds eye- these cars are so cool looking it would be hard to make a 'bad' choice - they all look great suggest playing in photoshop a bit to get a better picture of your ideas...

BTW- the guy from Fangperformance that had the black car: mentioned how I wanted to fill my windows, he said, funny I mentioned that as he was probably going to do his also- would sure love to see that, as the car is almost a 69 clone already.

No I haven't.

Yep I agree on the Bling, I thought the same with a touch to much bling on the black but I like them (red calipers for sure black center caps with a design sounds good), polished a touch to less for meto change out but could go with them I can't find any other wheels I really like other than the TT II's.

Wow I am going to take a ride out there when I get my car but if fills the window I will be going there again to see it in person. I forgot to mention in the other post on the picture you PS I love the look also with rear window louvers. On my 06 because of the side rear window's I wil louver them but not the rear window.

If you come across any wheels ya think post in this thread.

Thanks for your opinion.

I think thats Sonic not Vista right??? in any event- WOW. thanks for the pic- that ones good enough to play with in PS...Had I seen those wheels on a rack somewhere, would have thought 'no'... they sure look right at home on there...little lowered, looks like fang's ducktail...very nice. there are so many beautiful 05/06's out there...unlimited possibilities...

heres a pic of the tasca boss:

I think the colors look off on the restoration, saw a pic long ago, swore the wheels/stripes were much darker...

that car has a MAGNESIUM 492 inch BOSS429 canam motor, supposedly has ran 10.75 in street trim(HAD to have more rubber than that though?)...back in '70 supposedly Tasca offered $1000 to any street car that could beat it- was like 650 hp, weighed less than smallblock, etc...they didnt give away much money.

Thanks for posting the Tasco pic pretty wicked (prob answer to Chevylimited 69 ZL1 427 all alum) I not up Mustang history yet. I was Chevy ( 70 Chevelle SS built LS6 454 & a 69 Z/28 w/ Transplant built 427/ Vettes latter on) person back when I used to street race. Fords were not big around here it was all Chevy, Mopar, a few GTO's . I would always look at the 69/70 Stangs back then when I would see them on the road and ya know I kind of always like the look but always ran Chevy BB's.

One of reason I like these new Stang's is it reminds me and feels a little like inside of my old 69 Z/28 (favorite car) and cars of yesterday. I am not really into the speed anymore/street racing just love the retro look & feel of these Stangs. I think Ford did a exc job over all I could pick at a few things like should have went with a more aggressive hood & or hood scoop, smaller fog lights on GT IMO, no side window, etc but hey for the money & old look excellant job it hooked me on buying and I wasn't a Ford person car wise (have Expedition EB) until now.

Aha...We got a bit more in common than the emails to ford execs(sure wish I'd have gotten a reply!)...I didnt realize that you had a red 69...never told ya that I still have a Acapulco blue 69...Now I'm really sorry that you had to wait so long on your VIN...this couple of months has been horrible for me, If youre as hooked on fastbacks as I am(sounds like it) I cant imagine how youve kept cool all this time.

I still love my 69, even if I havent driven it in over 20 years now...think the 06 will be some incentive to get after it finally- who wouldnt love a matched set

...why would you not drive it in 20 yrs? that makes no sense to me. find a nice perfect day and take it for a drive ever once and a while. im assuming it runs
